Okcupid Taps OpenAI for Matchmaking

OkCupid aims to elevate its matchmaking with ChatGPT. Keep reading for tips on finding love -- the new way.

It was only a matter of time before ChatGPT entered dating apps and as of 2023, that time is here. If you're unfamiliar with OkCupid, the app matches users through in-app questions. Through these questions, singles are able to share what really matters and find authentic matches.

During its 2023 research, the brand asked the OpenAI chatbot what it would ask on a date and also, what it would ask on a dating app. Where some believed that singles would be anti-ChatGPT, adopting the system has seemingly worked for the app.

"We added half a dozen of those questions — about everything from what you value most in a partner to how you can balance your own needs with the needs of a partner in a relationship — and daters have already answered them more than 175,000 times."

Given the success of using ChatGPT, OkCupid frequently updates its matchmaking system with new prompts, aiming for a more vulnerable dating process.
