Despite always craving her own art exhibition, Susan Fang's mother set her own dreams aside to support her daughter's mission of becoming a designer. At Milan Fashion Week, Fang made her mother's dream a reality — bringing her artwork to life in the brand's Fall/Winter 2025 showcase.

"My mom's dream was to create her own art exhibition but she spent all of her time supporting me with my dream. So, I wanted to showcase all of her paintings," she tells us. "We used her paintings as the print and embroidery of the collection and we also recolored her paintings into Chinese ceramics and connected them into contemporary works."

For FW25, Fang experimented with a variety of new techniques including 3D-printing floral motifs which were woven onto jackets and dresses. "This season there were a lot of new challenges. The most challenging was the 3D-printed dress with hundreds of dandelions which we had to create a base for but it also ended up being the most stunning. We also created a new technique called the "Air Pleats" which combines rows of color to create a warm energy that feels very happy when you see it," Fang shares.

The mother-daughter duo wasn't the only collaboration on display at Susan Fang. For her debut show at MFW, Fang teamed up with Dolce & Gabanna to unveil voluminous tulle dresses, embroidered sneakers and pastel lingerie. The dopamine-inducing collection speaks volumes to the joy of dressing and the true spirit true craftsmanship. To continue the celebration, Fang plans to wear three of the dresses from this collection in her wedding this year.
