The time of year has come when our Instagram feeds are filled with people on vacation. It can be hard to watch if you yourself are not on vacation, but it can also be quite informative if you're looking for summer shopping and outfit ideas. I don't know about you but one of my summer style goals is to always look like I could be on vacation.

Just for fun, let's get a bit more specific about vacation style. If dressing like a French girl in the summer is something that appeals to you, you're going to like what you're about to see. French women really not how to embrace the relaxed yet put-together vibe while on vacation. And while they wear a lot of classic items, in general, I also spotted quite a few current trends on their feeds. Scroll on to shop seven of them that will enhance your summer wardrobe immensely, whether you're on vacation or not.

If you buy just one bag this summer, take my advice and make it a raffia one. French girls agree—I'm seeing this trend on the arms of all of them.

Red is the color of the season and there are many chic ways to incorporate it into your wardrobe. One that I'm seeing a lot is in the form of a red dress.

Wedge heels are no longer a fashion no-no, and the French fashion crowd is embracing them accordingly. I'm seeing this trend paired with everything from denim shorts to slip dresses.

Maxi skirts show no signs of fading, and one of the freshest iteration right now is in the form of a long pleated skirt.

Crochet practically screams summer, and there are so many fun ways to wear it. I'm seeing French women wear this trend around the world—from Mallorca to Miami to Marseille.

Snakeskin may not be the first thing you think of when you think of a French girl on summer vacation, but here we are. I'm especially loving snakeskin accessories at the moment.

Vacations usually involve some degree of walking, so a chic pair of flats is a requirement. The most forward, "French-girl" trend to wear at the moment is Mary Janes.
