PUMA Transforms Its Mostro Sneaker Into a Mary-Jane
info@hypebae.com (Hypebae) Tue, 25 Feb 2025 HypebaeOff the back of PUMA's recent Speedcat Ballerina announcement, the footwear label is back with another twist on a classic, introducing a brand new Mary Jane silhouette.
Dubbed the Mostro Fey, the new release fuses the visual identity of the signature Mostro sneaker with the "elegant and preppy charm" of the Mary Jane to create the ultimate sportswear hybrid. Designed with a Mary Jane-style band across the open forefoot, which replaces the classic Mostro strap closure, the new shoe also boasts a clean, stitchless upper crafted with a mixture of technical micro-ripstop and nubuck.
Completing the silhouette's design is a Formstrip-shaped contour which follows along the shoe's streamlined silhouette. The new release marks 25 years of the Mostro sneaker, which was first introduced in 1999. Named after the Italian word for "monster," the silhouette has become a staple in PUMA's repertoire and now, has a contemporary counterpart.
Landing in two colorways of "Dark/Amethyst/PUMA Black" and "Cool Weather/PUMA Black," the Mostro Fey will be available for purchase on March 1 via PUMA's website and store locations.
