Following his debut womenswear collection earlier this year, Kim Jones presented his sophomore ready-to-wear show for Fendi at Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2022.

"While I’ve been looking at Karl [Lagerfeld]’s legacy at the house, I’ve also been looking around him, at his contemporaries -- at who he was interested in," Jones shared in a press release. Extracted from the Italian label's archives, a logo hand-sketched by fashion illustrator Antonio Lopez was used as the foundation of Jones' collection. "Lopez was a friend of Karl’s, and has always been someone who inspired me. He was forward-thinking; inclusive; looked up to by everyone from Andy Warhol to Steven Meisel and David Hockney. I wanted to introduce him to a new generation."

A modern take on disco-age glamor, the range boasts a plethora of vibrant silhouettes, sparking numbers and sleek designs created in collaboration with The Estate and Archive of Antonio Lopez and Juan Ramos. Select pieces like the cream kaftans and silken shirting are dressed in Lopez's gestural brushstrokes. Meanwhile, the intarsia leathers, intricate lace and shimmering jacquards feature the artist's figurative drawings.

In accessories, the house's iconic bags like the Baguette and Peekaboo have been artistically transformed to match the line's theme. "This is my first live show for Fendi, and it’s a celebration," said Jones. "Our woman has let loose a bit -- she’s going out, dressing up. We’ve all been locked away for so long that I think that’s what we all need right now."
