Continuing its sustainability efforts, outdoor brand Arc'teryx has now announced Nicole McLaughlin as its first-ever design ambassador. The inaugural partnership launches with two custom designs created by the upcycling master.

The multi-year deal began from McLaughlin's interest in rock climbing, as well as her design ethos focused on product circularity and eco-friendliness. Throughout the partnership, Arc'teryx will be supporting the designer's ongoing projects by providing resources.

To kick off the collaboration, McLaughlin has designed the ARC CART and MINI TENT, which are both made using used Arc'teryx items found online via platforms like eBay. The two items put focus on the label's durable materials patched together to create functional pieces that can be used outdoors.

"As a climber and designer, I’m excited to partner with Arc’teryx. I’m looking forward to shared learnings and connecting our communities so that together we can amplify the value of circularity, including repurposing garments to keep waste out of landfills," McLaughlin comments in a statement. Arc'teryx's Director of Brand Experience Jurgen Watts adds: "We look forward to helping her share her passion for upcycling as we grow and evolve our initiatives in circularity and increasingly offer our guests more sustainable choices."
