Private Policy is wearing rose-colored glasses as the New York-based brand ushered in a wave of pink, sequined fun for New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2024. Led by Haoran Li and Siying Qu, the genderless label might still be feeling the effects of Venus retrograde as its latest collection is overflowing with romantic silhouettes and blush tones.

Where

The runway show took place at 9 West 8th in a minimalistic location, allowing the clothes to speak for themselves.

Saw

Pink, pink and more pink was the theme of the night as designs oscillated between various tones of the heart-warming hue. The flirtatious color arrived in the form of girlish ruffled mini-skirts and cardigans, bodycon dresses and two-piece sets comprised of bloomers and tank tops painted with swirls. The collection's more pared back pieces experimented with exaggerated shoulder pads and utilitarian straps.

Touch

Sequins, beaded garments and denim dominated the melange of garments as the runway glittered with beaming gingham patterns and sequined pants. Meanwhile, skirt-jean hybrids sat alongside denim corsets decorated with bows and boxy overshirts with frayed hemlines.

Hear

Attendees may have felt like they were lost at sea as the room was filled with murky, underwater sounds.

Taste

Private Policy continues to break boundaries when it comes to genderless garments, offering more than the standard shapeless androgynous attire. While the collection was filled with oversized and unisex silhouettes, the abundance of feminine details undoubtedly subverts the idea that pink is just for the girls.
