LOEWE Looks at Life From a Bird's Eye View for SS24

Jonathan Anderson takes LOEWE to new heights, playing with proportion and scale for its Spring/Summer 2024 runway show.

Using renowned sculptor Lynda Benglis' monumental works -- Crescendo, Bounty, Amber Waves, Fruited Plane and Knight Mer, LOEWE delivers an artful display, zooming in on garments' most minute details. Swaths of fabrics are transformed into tops as oversized squares of pink and blue silk are punctured with pins. Metallic knots cover torsos, while suede smocks flow seamlessly into matching tote bags, blurring the lines between clothing and accessories as wide-legged jeans bleed into flats, creating an optical illusion.

Elsewhere, severe slate gray wool coats evoke an air of cool, thanks to clever tailoring as an interior vest layered underneath leaves the wearer's arms free. Meanwhile, knitted cardigans boast handy cup holder-like pockets on the sleeves, challenging us to reimagine how clothing can be constructed.
