Simon Porte Jacquemus has made his eponymous label a household name, albeit hard to pronounce, through his larger-than-life approach to fashion.

If it's not sending comically oversized handbags rolling through the streets of Paris, it's sitting his guests in boats in the midst of the gardens of King Louis XIV's Palace of Versailles for his Fall 2023 runway show. Titled "LE CHOUCHOU," attendees rowed merrily along to view Jacquemus' latest collection as Victoria and David Beckham, Manu Rios, Monica Bellucci, Eva Longoria, Emily Ratajkowski and Claire Foy sat front row.

Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid and Belluci's daughter Deva Cassel are amongst the cast of models, carefully dressed as members of Jacquemus' royal court. Operating with a red, black and white color palette, the French brand expertly plays with proportions and texture, carefully balancing its designs between sophistication and experimentation. Sheer, lingerie-adjacent dresses are taken up a notch with the addition of frothy, Nutcracker-esque tutus. Meanwhile, veils wistfully mask models' faces, casting viewers' eyes toward voluminous shoulders and carefully placed cut-outs.

Even menswear gets special treatment as layers of tulle kiss waistbands, adding whimsy to snow white tuxedos. Suits are reimagined into avant-garde garments with a few artful slashes as a cloud-colored skirt set bears plenty of cleavage and arrives with an off the shoulder puffed sleeve. Elsewhere, bloomers act as bottoms, polka dots heavily adorn a Dalmatian-inspired mini dress. Floral lace tights and square-toed satin shoes continue the collection's decidedly feminine aesthetic, harmonizing an aspirational collection of regal yet playful clothing.
