The Idol hasn't officially premiered on HBO yet and already, it's taking the internet by storm. Recent reports claim that Sam Levinson, who created both The Idol and Euphoria, has confirmed that both shows exist in the same universe.

This means that you can expect characters from Euphoria to appear in The Idol and vice versa. Additionally, it's been reported that Maddy Perez (Alexa Demie) from Euphoria, will make a cameo in The Idol.

The official synopsis for The Idol reads as follows: The Idol, set against the backdrop of the music industry, centers on a self-help guru and leader of a modern-day cult (The Weeknd), who develops a complicated relationship with an up-and-coming pop idol (Lily-Rose Depp)."

The Idol recently made its debut at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival and received a five-minute standing ovation. However, online, the show has garnered mixed reviews for its levels of sexual content.

The Idol premieres on HBO on June 4. Meanwhile, production for Season 3 of Euphoria is expected to begin in the second half of 2023.
