Palace x New Balance's Latest Collab Leads Us Into the Future

Palace  and New Balance create a cross-continental alliance with the release of its latest collaboration.

Although the sneaker brand was born and bred in Boston, its roots in the United Kingdom go back to the '80s with the introduction of its first British factory. Meanwhile, Palace has served as a sartorial innovator in British streetwear since 2009, resulting in a match-made in heaven.

The two powerhouses have come together to drop a retro-inspired collection of sneakers and apparel. Taking visual cues from New Balance's Made In UK 991 silhouette, the co-branded shoe arrives in two vivid colorways. A purple and teal iteration immediately catches the eye with its ocean-hued ripstop base and grape-colored leather trimmings surrounding the toes and ankles. A supple tan suede grounds the sneaker as it runs along the mudguards and heels, while the Barney-esque "N" insignia rests on a cream body. For an added touch, gridded windows on the back of the shoe reveal cleverly separated Palace lettering. Joining it is a black, grey, pink and purple option. Accompanying the sneakers is bold and bright, yet simplistic clothing in the form of colorblocked windbreakers, soft crewnecks and purple and teal T-shirts reminiscent of vintage malls from the '80s, as well as matching hats.

The collection will be available in stores and online on May 12, 11 a.m. EST on the brand's official online store and in Japan on May 13, 11 a.m. JST on the Palace Japan webstore, and on the official “Palace_Skateboards” WeChat store May 13, 11 a.m. CST
