Having shown its Fall/Winter 2021 collection in newspaper format, Loewe is now launching its latest sustainability-driven range dubbed "The Surplus Project." The series features handbags made using leftover leather from the fashion house.

The Basket silhouette has become a classic piece for the label, having appeared back in Spring/Summer 2015 for Jonathan Anderson's first-ever runway for the brand. The latest initiative sees the bag crafted using surplus materials from past collections. Loewe's classic and soft-grained calfskin leathers are woven with one another to create new handbags and Crab charms. The purses come in three iterations, including a colorful design, as well as monochromatic brown and blue versions.

Take a closer look below. "The Surplus Project" is slated to release via Loewe's online store on March 11.
