Loewe Reveals Fall/Winter 2021 Collection in a Newspaper

Since the world went into lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic just about a year ago, Jonathan Anderson has been working hard at creating interesting show formats for both his eponymous label JW Anderson, as well as for Loewe. For the latter, Anderson created the "Show in a Box" concept as well as "Show on a Wall," which encouraged those who received the packages to touch and see the collections in a physical format – despite being confined to digital presentation.

For Fall/Winter 2021, Loewe debuted its collection as a newspaper which read "THE LOEWE SHOW HAS BEEN CANCELLED" at front. The collection itself was big and bold, with electric colors and eclectic shapes paving the way for the anticipated range. Playing with a wide range of materials including jacquards, intarsia and quilting, as well as printed materials and more, the collection feels like a take on fun and playful uniforms. Tailoring also takes the stage, with long jackets and cropped trousers in the spotlight. Draping is also echoed throughout in both tops and dresses, and lastly, new accessories are also in focus.

New lug-soled boots and high heels arrive as part of the FW21 range, as well as a new take on Loewe's signature Amazona bag which first launched in 1975. Anderson brings back the Amazona silhouette in calfskin and Anagram jacquard versions, making it one of the most exciting bags for the season.
