Thanks, It's New: 25 Items Our Editors Added to Their Closets This Month

Anna LaPlaca  Wed, 27 Jul 2022  Who What Wear

Is anyone in need of some shopping inspiration? Well, nobody asked, but I'm certainly delivering anyway. With a dizzying number of new pieces hitting the market, it can be downright intimidating to peruse what's out there in the hopes of making a little wardrobe update. But that's where I come in, friends. On a typical day, I do some online browsing to highlight the very best shopping picks of the moment, but today, I'm taking it a step further by showing you what we're personally adding to our closets and including some inspirational outfit photos.

There's no doubt our editors are a stylish bunch. (I look to their Instagrams for my own style ideas.) So when I tell you these new tops, bags, sunglasses, and jewelry items are it, I think you'll agree. From the minidress I'm living in this summer to Ally's new It sneakers and Grace's amazing Zara find, keep scrolling for the new fashion favorites we added to our closets in June.

"I've cooled off on black dresses lately (I'm embracing color full stop this summer) but made an exception for this cut-out dress. I love that the material is soft and substantial without feeling too constricting. Definitely a go-to special event outfit."

"A recent sale find, I simply cannot stop wearing this necklace. For the price I'd should honestly buy a backup. There's a weightiness to it, that makes it look and feel more expensive than it is."

"I’ve been living in tailored shorts this summer—it’s the “clean-girl” trend that has become a key staple in my wardrobe recently. I packed these white linen shorts for a trip to NYC and they proved to be one of the most versatile pieces in my suitcase."

"I can’t get enough of this beautiful leather Refine belt—a piece that taps into the micro-belt trend that has been on the rise recently. Sleek, minimal, and timeless, it’s the ultimate elevated everyday accessory."

"I love oval-shaped sunglasses and this is my favorite pair as of late. The size is perfect and the price is right."

"I have trouble resisting a pair of trendy sneakers, and Adidas Sambas are it right now. I might have to order the white pair when they restock as well."

"I usually invest in one Isa Boulder bikini each summer. They are such good quality and fit me like a glove. Even though I'm still constantly searching for a good cheap bikini thrill, it's my Isa swimsuits I come back to time and time again. This is one of the only strapless bikini tops that actually supports me and doesn't slip down due to the underwire." Shop the matching Waves Ruched Stretch-Satin Bikini Briefs ($66)

"This little initial necklace from Completed Works is something I rarely take off. It looks good layered with other necklaces as well as on its own and the texture on the letter feels extra special."

"Every summer I love to treat myself to buying one great Staud dress, so when I spotted this linen cutout number, I knew I had to have it. I used Klarna to secure it, and honestly, I’m so grateful I did, as it’s probably one of the best dresses I’ve bought in a while. First off, it’s so well made—the leather edges and tie-up back are just perfection. But beyond that, I wore this on a trip to New Orleans in the middle of the summer, and I can not think of a better dress to survive the heat in. It not only is light-weight, but everywhere I went, people were complimenting me, making it worth every penny in my books."

"I also just treated myself and bought this stunning Yuzefi woven leather fringe bag, and I'm so happy I did. I've been wearing it non-stop; it's the perfect little summertime tote if you want an effortless bag but don't want to carry the same raffia iterations as everyone else."

"I shop at Italist for the great deals on cool brands, and recently found these animal print sneakers that I've been wearing on repeat."

"I know slip skirts have been around the block for a bit, but there’s something about this sky blue iteration from Mango that feels particularly fresh. Style it with a basic tank and fun accessories and you’ve got the easiest summer look."

"In my world, the sportier the sunglasses the better so the first time I saw these Gucci sunglasses in a boutique I immediately tried them on. It was love at first site and despite many critiques I will continue to wear them as much as possible."

"Styling each of my swimsuits in many different ways has always been a passion of mine so I live for coverups. A suite you've worn over and over again feels new again when you add a sarong like this.  In the middle of a heat wave, it's sheer panels become quite useful."

"This dress is undeniably perfect. Whether worn as a pool cover-up or a sheer summer dress, it's stunning—and 15,000 people on my TikTok agreed."

"I liked these on the model, yes, but it wasn't until I put these swishy trousers on that I really fell hard for them. They are beyond cool and surprisingly versatile."

"I've tried a lot of tank tops in my life, but this one by Hanes and RE/DONE goes above and beyond any I've owned. Unlike most, it doesn't get super stretched out after one wear and it's just the right amount of sheer."

"I never thought a pair of sunglasses could make me feel "put together" but these Linda Farrow sunnies do exactly that. They may look heavy but they feel lightweight and I have no other word to describe them besides chic. My coworkers have also been wearing them nonstop, so it's an office affair."

"I've finally given into these Steve Madden sandals that everyone seems to own, and I wish I did sooner. They're so easy to throw on, are extremely comfortable and give a little added height which is always appreciated, being 5'3"!"

"My summer uniform lately has been a black midi dress and sandals and this zara satin midi has been my savior in the unbearable NYC, mid july heat. I love how it's so light weight and comfortable. It's a classic basic that you really can never go wrong with, I also pair it with sneakers"
