Elon Musk and Grimes have purchased a custom 3D-printed sandal for their son X Æ A-XII Musk. The vegan silhouette is a collaboration with Paris-based brand Rombaut and Brooklyn tech company Zellerfeld.

The miniature shoes were made by Zellerfeld’s proprietary Monolith 3D printer with 100% recycled polymer. Inspired by Musk's creations, the design is dressed in a matte gray color reminiscent of Tesla's Cybertruck. The upper hugs the ankle accompanied with a strap stamped with X Æ A-XII's name in white. Rounding out the unique shoes are the chunky two-layered midsoles with sawtoothed detailing on the outsoles.

“Rombaut used 3D printing to prototype and produce a concept in days, not months,” said Zellerfeld CEO Cornelius Schmitt. “It’s closer to software design than shoe design, and it’s exciting to see how rapidly the product evolves as a result.” “Our brand is vegan and takes sustainability seriously, our collaborations need to have meaning and set a good example on how to make things better,” said Mats Rombaut founder of the Paris-based company.
