Doechii's "Denial Is a River" Music Video Featured a Stealthy Beauty Drop
info@hypebae.com (Hypebae) Fri, 03 Jan 2025 HypebaeYou can bet we were among Doechii's dedicated fans counting down for the drop of her highly anticipated "Denial Is a River" music video. We had high expectations for the sitcom-inspired video, but certainly didn't expect it to double as the global unveiling of Urban Decay's newest launch. Hello, Face Bond Luminizer.
Eagle-eyed beauty stans will have spotted it around the two-minute mark. The Grammy-nominated artist is reflecting on her Hollywood journey when, from stage left, a makeup artist's hands come into the frame to apply the Face Bond Luminizer (in the shade "Half Baked") to Doechii's face. Given the star's novel use of face tape and use of braids to convey meaning on a live stage, we shouldn't have been surprised that the video would deliver on the beauty front, too.

The vegan and cruelty-free brand's new product is described as a "radiance revolution" and is quite the multi-tasker. Urban Decay's airy, liquid illuminator is packed with light-catching pearls and shimmer that lend a dreamy (and clearly, Doechii-approved) soft-focus glow. It can be applied straight onto your skin (face and/or body), or mixed in with your favorite moisturizer, foundation or lotion to create a subtle yet radiant sparkle.
The Face Bond Luminizer comes in eight shades, ranging from soft to warm and glitter glows, including the makeup giant's bestselling eyeshadow shade "Space Cowboy". The formula is also transfer-, sweat-, humidity- and smudge-proof, which means it should stay in place for up to 12 hours. Plus, a dose of niacinamide helps nourish skin, too.
