“Charlie Bit My Finger” To Be Taken Off YouTube After NFT Sells for $760,000 USD

As one of YouTube's first viral videos, "Charlie Bit My Finger" has amassed more than 883 million views since it was first posted in 2007. However, the family behind the much-loved clip will be removing it from the site after selling it as an NFT for more than $760,000 USD.
The auction began over the weekend, and an intense bidding war caused the price to surge dramatically in the final hours of Sunday evening, after which the Davies-Carr family announced that the NFT had been sold to anonymous buyer "3fmusic." As well as possessing the rights to the original clip, the new owner will also have the opportunity to create content related to the video. As stated on the auction page, the buyer will "have the opportunity to create their own parody of the video featuring the original stars, Harry and Charlie." Adding to the exclusivity of the NFT, it was promised that the famed home movie would be removed from YouTube following the sale, however, as of right now, it is still available for your viewing pleasure.
In other crypto news, the Hollywood sign is being auctioned as an NFT.
