Tinder's New Feature Lets You Vibe Check Your Matches

Tinder has announced a new feature -- or rather, event -- giving users a new way to scope out potential matches. Vibes, an in-app event that takes place weekly, presents users with a series of questions about anything from personality traits to pop culture preferences. Answers will be displayed on participants' profiles for 72 hours, and you'll be able to see how your matches responded.

Over the course of the pandemic, Tinder has introduced several features -- from video chatting to Tinder U -- to facilitate virtual dating. Though an increasing number of people are getting vaccinated and meeting up IRL, Vibes is the app's latest attempt to grow engagement and help users gauge compatibility without leaving the house.

"We built Vibes to help make profiles as dynamic as our members while giving them more to match on along the way," Tinder's VP of Product, Udi Milo, said. "This is the first of many things we’re creating for the Tinder community this year so they can show off more of their personalities on the app."

Vibes will begin rolling out on Tinder in late May. In case you missed it, check out our guide to dating virtually an in-person during the pandemic.
