Coachella Announces the Dismissal of All COVID-19 Safety Rules

Coachella and Stagecoach have revealed that attendees will no longer be required to provide proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 tests prior to being admitted to their events in April.

"In accordance with local guidelines, there will be no vaccination, testing or masking requirements at Coachella 2022," the site reads. "COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. There is an inherent and elevated risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any public place or place where people are present and there is no guarantee, express or implied, that those attending the festival will not be exposed to COVID-19," it warns. Coachella adds that those exposed to the virus are expected to self-quarantine in accordance with the local and CDC guidelines.

Stagecoach, which will take place from April 29 to May 1, has also put up the same guidelines on its website. However, unlike Coachella, the country music festival took to its social media accounts to inform fans of the changes.

Both California-based events state that the safety guidelines "may change at any time as determined by federal, state or local government agencies or instrumentalities, artists or the promoter." The changes could include attendees providing proof of vaccination, a negative COVID-19 test or other protective measures.
