Lyn Lapid Drops Bittersweet New Single, "I Guess This Was Goodbye"

Lyn Lapid, who is currently on tour with Korean-American pop artist Eric Nam, is back with new music with her latest single titled "I Guess That Was Goodbye."

Following "In My Mind," which was dedicated to the quiet kids, the 19-year-old songstress' new track is inspired by the bittersweet feeling of not being able to say goodbye to people you care about the most. "We all have that one person who we didn’t get enough time with before they left. For me, that person was multiple people: my old high school friends," Lapid shares in a press release. "Last August when I was doing writing sessions in LA, my friends were all back home in Maryland saying goodbye to each other before they moved away for college. I never got to say goodbye to them in person because I was away, and when I returned to Maryland, they were all gone. I feel like a lot of people can relate to the bittersweet feeling of an abrupt goodbye."

The beautiful ballad is complemented with orchestral strings that elevate Lapid's signature ethereal vocals. "Swear I was just on the pavement/Laying down while someone traces me/Watching the sky/I thought I had more time/What a lie/I guess that was goodbye," she sings in the chorus.
