Drake has withdrawn his two nominations for the 2022 Grammy Awards, as confirmed by Variety. The Canadian rapper was nominated for Best Rap Album for his sixth studio album Certified Lover Boy and Best Rap Performance for "Way 2 Sexy" with Young Thug and Future.

As of now, the reason for withdrawing the nominations remains unclear. However, Drake has been criticizing the Recording Academy over the past few years. In 2017, he refused to submit his album More Life for the 2018 Grammys and also threw shade at the organization during his speech while accepting his 2019 Best Rap Song award. He additionally showed support for The Weeknd when he received zero nominations.

"I think we should stop allowing ourselves to be shocked every year by the disconnect between impactful music and these awards and just accept that what once was the highest form of recognition may no longer matter to the artists that exist now and the ones who come after," he wrote on Instagram. "It’s like a relative you keep expecting to fix up but they just won’t change their ways."

Drake and his management have yet to comment on their decision.
