UPDATE (April 27, 2021): Billie Eilish has announced the release date of her next album, Happier Than Ever. The Grammy-winning artist took to Instagram with the news, characterizing the project as her "favorite thing" she's ever created. According to her post, Eilish will also drop a new song on Thursday. The song will likely be the album's title track, which she teased yesterday.
An official press release specifies that, keeping with tradition, Happier Than Ever features no outside songwriters or producers -- all 16 tracks on the release were written by Eilish and her brother FINNEAS.
Happier Than Ever releases on July 30. Keep an eye out for Eilish's new song, out on April 29 at 9 a.m. PST.
ORIGINAL STORY (April 26, 2021): Billie Eilish just teased her next musical release, a single titled "Happier Than Ever." The songstress posted a 15-second clip of the moody track to YouTube, where the video has already garnered nearly half a million views.
The teaser, also posted to Eilish's official Instagram, gives fans a closer look at the star's blonde hairdo, which made headlines back in March. "When I’m away from you/I’m happier than ever," she sings in the snippet. Last week, Eilish sent the internet into a frenzy when she posted a selfie captioned "things are comingggg" -- it seems "Happier Than Ever" is what the artist was hinting at.
