After winning the MTV's Video Music Award for "Best New Artist," Chappell Roan is crowned 2024's "Best New Artist" again, this time by Billboard.

According to Billboard, the Missouri-born musician hit its "Emerging Artists" list in 2023. Just one year later, "Good Luck Babe" helped her reach new heights, this time rising past her 2023 class.

Although the world is eating up her songs, the artist still appears to be in shock at her growing celeb status. "Can you believe it?! I'm at the VMAs," she screamed at the time of her win. "I'm going to read the speech I wrote in my journal."

Thank you MTV, Island Records, my team, my family and friends. I want to dedicate this award to all the drag artists who inspire me. I also want to dedicate it to all the queer and trans people who make my music pop, to all the people who love my songs, hate them, and all the gay people. To my fans, to all the people who listen to my music, to those who listen when I share my joys and my fears, thank you for listening. And to all the queer kids watching out in the Midwest, I see you all. I relate to you all, because I am you, and never let anyone tell you you can't be who you want to be!"

Following that win, she saw a 614% jump in tour demand, says Google Trends -- all after getting into it on the red carpet with a photographer. Her win follows a long line of women who've dominated the category. Ironically, not a single man has won the category since Khalid in 2017. Since then, women have rightfully dominated the music industry with Beyoncé recently shouting out GloRilla, Chappell Roan and more.
