After nearly a decade since her last album, rapper Big Freedia is set to release new music.

Set to release on June 23, the LP titled Central City, pays homage to the Queen of Bounce and her culture. However, it will also introduce yet another era of the genre, Freedia shared. "Bounce has been through many iterations — from Triggerman to Sissy to Cash Money Bounce," she shared. Even Drake tried his hand at bounce on hit single "Nice For What," — "but my new album is something I call Bigga Bounce,” Freedia said.

"Welcome to Central City, y’all, where I pay homage to my city, my roots, hip-hop, and to the art of creating a new sound," she continued. Central City will also feature some of rap and hip hop's favorite names such as Lil Wayne, Ciara, Faith Evans and Kelly Price.

The New-Orleans artist has been leading the wave of bounce music for years now and has taken pride in introducing the world to her culture. Recently, she released a single "Hey Queen" in celebration of Shonda Rhimes and Netflix's Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.

For more on inclusive news, singer Hayley Kiyoko released a queer romance novel.
