For many, music can be therapeutic. You're having a bad day, you put on your favorite song and suddenly, you feel like everything will be OK. Oftentimes, people resonate with a song for different reasons, either because of the lyrics or because of the rhythm. Since May is Mental Health Awareness Month, we've curated a few tracks with either powerful messages or an uplifting melody that will instantly make you feel better when you're going through a tough time. Keep scrolling to learn about them.

"Taki Taki" -- DJ Snake ft. Selena Gomez, Ozuna and Cardi B

"Taki Taki" is the collab we never knew we needed. The bilingual track is the perfect mix of moombahton and reggaeton track, mixing a variety of cultures. It's an easy listen whether you're in the mood to dance or just have playing as background music. In summary, DJ Snake, Selena Gomez, Ozuna and Cardi B did not disappoint.

"Pursuit of Happiness" -- Kid Cudi ft. MGMT

Many fans will credit Kid Cudi as the artist who saved their lives. The track, which is the third single off Cudi's debut album, Man on the Moon: The End of Day, is probably his most popular song to date. While the song is about partaking in destructive activities as a form of escapism, many have applied their own interpretation to the track, especially because of its optimistic chorus, which goes as follows: "I'm on the pursuit of happiness and I know/ Everything that shine ain't always gonna be gold, hey/ I'll be fine once I get it, yeah, I'll be good."

"Happiness in Liquid Form" -- Alfie Templeman

No matter what you're going through, "Happiness in Liquid Form" by Alfie Templeman is one of those songs that will make you happy as soon as that first riff hits. The English musician released the pop song during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in the summer of 2020 as a way to uplift people during such a scary and uncertain time.

"oop" -- VALÉ ft. Kat Dahlia

"Oop" by VALÉ featuring Kat Dahlia is an underrated bop. It's impossible to listen to the song and not bop your head at least a couple of times. Additionally, it's hard not to love a powerful female anthem. "Little girl big attitude/ Please don't test me, I’m not the mood/ Said I hurt your feelings I said oops/ I get to the bag and then I oop," VALÉ sings in the first verse.

"One More Time" -- Sister Sledge

You can never go wrong with classics. The 1979 track is the perfect mix of R&B/soul and Disco that will make you want to get up and dance, especially if you're a fan of Sister Sledge and the oldies. "One More Time" has a little bit of everything -- a great melody, a killer guitar solo and incredible female vocals.

"Safaera" -- Bad Bunny, Jowell & Randy and Ñengo Flow

Similarly to "Happiness in Liquid Form," Safaera was also released during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. The track is part of Bad Bunny's sophomore solo studio album, YHLQMDLG, which was the soundtrack for many during the lockdown. The clubs may have shut down after the album dropped, but bangers like "Safaera" instilled fans with the hope of fun times ahead.
