Kelly Clarkson Desires to Change Her Name Amid Divorce

Kelly Clarkson is taking active steps to move on from her husband Brandon Blackstock. The singer has recently filed a petition with the Los Angeles Superior Court on February 14, requesting to change her name to Kelly Brianne.
According to US Weekly, Clarkson has detailed in court documents that she wishes to change her name for "personal reasons." The "Stronger" singer expands on this, saying: "My new name more fully reflects who I am." It is currently unknown whether the songstress plans to stick with Kelly Clarkson professionally, although a source told Entertainment Tonight that the name of her eponymous talk show will remain the same.
The name change request comes amid divorce proceedings with Blackstock that was announced back in June 2020. The two have battled over spousal support, their prenup agreement and a Montana home that he reportedly refused to leave. In December 2020, Clarkson shared on her talk show that the predominant reason for their divorce centered around her children.
