With the holidays swiftly approaching, many of us are scrambling to find gifts that give back. After a rocky year and a half that separated us from our loved ones, it’s only natural that we’re looking inwards to give our friends and family meaningful presents.

Here comes Joy Not Hate, an Instagram fundraising initiative that supports and amplifies the voices of the AAPI community. At the initial onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, we witnessed an alarming rise in attacks on Asian women. While our social media timelines may no longer be flooded with the #StopAsianHate hashtag, that does not mean these issues do not persist and have deep roots in our society.

Led by Caroline Kim, founder of LA-based children’s boutique store Merci Milo, Joy Not Hate brings together over 20 New York-based female entrepreneurs, to donate a mix of products and experiences to raise money for Advancing Justice, a non-profit organization that provides legal services and advocates for the civil rights of the AAPI community.

Available for auction until November 29, donations include a custom basketball created by Cecilia Salama, an opportunity to get inside the head of "sockinfluencer" Gia Seo, a $200 USD gift card for Nicole Saldana Footwear and not to mention, a stunning Razor Clam Bag with a customized charm by Opening Ceremony. Joy Not Hate provides a wealth of ways to support the AAPI community.

To enter the auction, comment on an item’s post on @joynothate_ and enter the amount you wish to pay. Winners will be announced on December 1.
