Elon Musk Will Sell $6 Billion USD of Tesla Shares if It Can "Solve World Hunger"

Elon Musk has shared that he will sell $6 billion USD of Tesla shares if the United Nations can prove that it will "solve world hunger."

The statement comes days after David Beasley, the director of the UN World Food Programme (WFP), said 42 million people struggling from hunger can be saved if the world's top billionaires donated just a fraction of their wealth.

Taking to Twitter, of course, Musk commented: "If WFP can describe on this Twitter thread exactly how $6B will solve world hunger, I will sell Tesla stock right now and do it." He added in the same thread: "But it must be open source accounting, so the public sees precisely how the money is spent." Beasley responded that the WFP has "systems in place for transparency and open source accounting."

At the time of writing, Musk has yet to respond to Beasley's latest tweet. Currently, the Tesla and SpaceX founder is the richest person on the planet.
