Nike and Phaidon Press just announced the publication of a new book that explores the evolution of women's sportswear and its influence. Titled Look Good, Feel Good, Play Good: Nike Apparel, the new release spans over 350 pages, visualizing the relationship between women and the clothes they wear during sport.

Taking us through five key designs in sporting history, including warm-ups, jerseys, leggings, sports bras and shorts, the book features interviews with Nike athletes like Naomi Osaka, Sha'Carri Richardson and Dina Asher-Smith, offering intimate conversations and personal anecdotes.

Alongside the athletes, the book features contributions from Natalie E. Wright, a historian of design and disability, Associate Professor Samantha N. Sheppard and curator Michelle Millar Fisher. Visually, the book includes a slew of imagery from Nike's rich archive alongside illustrations, sketches, fabric swatches, old design proposals and reproductions of Nike's trade catalogues.

"Whether you've followed their journeys or are exploring the trends that have defined women's sports, Look Good, Feel Good, Play Good showcases the work Nike designers have done over the past 50 years to revolutionize and move women’s sport forward," says Amy Montagne, VP/GM at Nike Women.
