Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, Has Passed Away at Age 99

The Royal Family and Her Majesty The Queen have just announced the death of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Philip retired from public duties in 2017 at age 96, and passed away at age 99. "It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle," reads the statement shared by The Royal Family.
The duke's funeral will be televised and held at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, and with COVID-19 restrictions in place, the public will not be able to bid a final farewell in the traditional format. "The Royal Family join with people around the world in mourning his loss," the statement ends.
