Why TF Is Kylie Jenner's Bratz Doll Black?

Kylie Jenner releases a Bratz collaboration with one glaring detail the girls just can’t overlook.

At first glance – iconic. Following the release of the new Barbie movie, Jenner’s Bratz line was a clever drop and definitely tapped our inner nostalgia. "I have been a fan of Bratz since childhood and I’ve always wanted my own Bratz doll," Jenner shared in her exclusive press release.

But the release didn't spark nostalgia as the brand intended. As many femmes on social media are pointing out, Jenner is a white woman, flaunting dolls of herself with darker skin. When you consider the dolls' full lips and even one's hairstyle which resembles braids, her take is concerning. Which raises the question: Does Jenner think she’s a woman of color? Is this what she sees when she looks at herself?

"Kylie Jenner is a sicko," one Twitter user began their rant. "Sis literally skimmed off the top of the entire Black girl aesthetic and is getting a BRATZ collection that’s not even based on her natural features." Another questioned whether Jenner securing the first-ever celeb Bratz doll was a marketing ploy after the success of Barbie, while suggesting actual Black women that would fit the role. For example, Ice Spice, Doechii or Gen Z's icon Aaliyah.

Unfortunately, racial outrage geared towards the Kar-Jenner clan is a common occurrence and seemingly a tried-and-true PR tactic. From Jenner rocking Givenchy’s highly controversial Noose Necklace to the clan’s constant appropriation of culture, the list of offenses is ongoing. The most common read, however, is the Kar-Jenner clan’s fetishization of Blackness – cue the next generation being 75% Black. This latest release... is not helping.

All shade intended, it's giving Rachel Dolezal.

In other news, here are Kris Jenner's most iconic PR relationships.
