Last month, Armie Hammer was dropped by his talent agency WME after a series of controversial explicit messages were revealed along with allegations of abuse. Now, a 24-year-old woman named Effie has recently come forward claiming that the actor raped her in 2017.

Currently being investigated by the LAPD, Hammer has reportedly denied the allegations, as per BBCHis lawyer, Andrew Brettler, stated that he "welcomes the opportunity to set the record straight" as the claims were "outrageous."

"On April 24, 2017, Armie Hammer raped me for over four hours in Los Angeles, during which he repeatedly slapped my head against a wall, bruising my face," Effie said during a virtual press conference on March 18 alongside her women's rights lawyer Gloria Allred. She continued: "During those four hours, I tried to get away and he wouldn't let me. I thought that he was going to kill me. He then left with no concern for my wellbeing. I was completely in shock and I couldn't believe that someone I loved did that to me."

According to BBC, Brettler shared that Hammer's relationship with Effie was "completely consensual, discussed and agreed upon in advance, and mutually participatory." In addition, Brettler revealed screenshots of texts shared between Hammer and Effie, in which Hammer said: "I am not going to be able to engage in you in that specific way right now. It never ends well. We can talk and be friends, but I can’t do that."

The attorney added: "[Her] attention-seeking and ill-advised legal bid will only make it more difficult for real victims of sexual violence to get the justice they deserve." As of now, no other details have been disclosed.

Stay tuned while we wait for more information to surface.
