Alexander Wang Faces New Allegations of Sexual Assault

Back in December 2020, a model named Owen Mooney took to TikTok to detail a predatory encounter with Alexander Wang, who allegedly groped him at a party. The video went viral, prompting others to anonymously share stories of abuse at the hands of the celebrated designer. Now, Wang's accusers are going on the record -- according to a new report by The New York Times, victims' rights lawyer Lisa Bloom is representing 10 men who have been on the receiving end of the designer's sexual misconduct.

One of these men is stylist David Casavant, who was approached by Wang in 2017 at a Brooklyn nightclub. The designer pulled down his pants and underwear, a violation Casavant believes was intended to humiliate him. "I was so apparently in a vulnerable state," Casavant, who was drunk at the time of the incident, told the Times. "Even if it’s at a party late at night, I don’t think that’s normal behavior."

Wang has vehemently denied the allegations that surfaced in December, as well as those made by Casavant. Retailers including Nordstrom and Net-a-Porter continue to stock the designer's work. "I didn’t like the idea that people could be branded as liars who weren’t," Casavant said of Wang's continued denials and the industry's lack of response. "I get it, [the allegations] were mainly anonymous, so that’s fine. But here I am. I’m sitting in front of you. I’m saying who I am. I’m not anonymous anymore."
