"Brow Mapping" Is the Latest Eyebrow Filter To Try On TikTok

If you've tried plucking, threading, waxing, "soap brows," or tinting your own brows and failed miserably, meet "brow mapping," a new TikTok beauty craze that offers an easy way to groom eyebrows.

Brow mapping is an eyebrow shaping technique that uses the structure of your facial features to determine the perfect shape for your eyebrows. By strategically focusing on the main areas of your face, namely your eyes, nose and Cupid's bow, you can achieve salon-quality symmetry and make sure your brows start and end in the right place. And TikTok, the home of viral beauty hacks, has made this method that much easier to pick up.

The "Eyebrows" filter by Grace Choi, AKA @gracemchoi, scans your face for the "golden ratio" and draws symmetrical lines from the center of the top lip through the eyes and up through the eyebrow to work out where your brows should arch. The lines also run from the corner of the nose, past the corner of your eye to help you locate the ideal finishing point. Follow straight up alongside your nose to find the starting point, and if you make tiny dots with a brow pencil at each end, you'll have a framework to shape those brows once the filter is off.

If you're wondering if this trending filter is legit or not, celebrity brow artist Joey Healy said to InStyle, "It's a really cool filter, however, it's not for everyone. The filter is ideal for someone in their 20s to early 30s who is looking for some brow basics. However, if you're 35+ you might want a little more lift in the brow."
