Meet Namesake Skincare, the New Beauty Brand Caring for Melanin-Rich Skin

Black-owned brand Namesake Skincare enters the the beauty space with the intention of creating products that care for a wide range of skin textures and colors.
Founded by Davlyn Mosley, a true skincare aficionado with firsthand experience and education from her mother, dermatologist Dr. Lynn McKinley-Grant, Namesake is innately embedded in medically sourced ingredients, passed down family skincare routines and knowledge.
The brand launches with the Namesake Daily Moisturizer, a dermatologist-backed product that gently exfoliates while plumping and brightening the skin to help balance an even tone. Powerhouse products such as PHAs and rosehip oil refine the skin texture, strengthen skin barriers and reduce hyperpigmentation.
“The Namesake Daily Moisturizer took almost two years to perfect and finish -- it was really important to create a product that included powerful, clinically tested ingredients at levels that wouldn’t cause irritation but still help to refine skin texture and do what they say they’re going to do,” says Dr. McKinley-Grant in a press release.
