Chanel Releases First-Ever Book Dedicated to Beauty

A true time capsule, The Allure of Makeup chronicles the history of Chanel's color line from its inception in 1924 to now. The book offers a glimpse into the brand's evolution, featuring rare advertisements, runway moments, behind-the-scenes glimpses and much more. Written by journalist and author Natasha A. Fraser, the book draws from Chanel's exclusive, never-before-seen archives, showcasing iconic images of the brand's founder, Gabrielle Chanel, alongside campaigns that have defined decades of beauty.
Founded by Chanel in 1910 and under the creative direction of Karl Lagerfeld from 1983 until his passing in 2019, the house is known for its take on modern feminity in the fashion world. In 1924, the brand revolutionized the beauty industry with the launch of the house's first makeup collection, allowing for the creation of the innovative and elegant Chanel Beauty to become what it is today. From the classic "Rouge Coco" lipsticks to the iconic Chanel N°5 fragrance, beauty has remained a part of the brand's popularity, continuing to influence and inspire generations worldwide.
