Karhu by Zomer’s Campaign Will Blow Your Mind
info@hypebae.com (Hypebae) Thu, 27 Feb 2025 HypebaeKarhu, the Finnish brand known for its comfy outdoor sneakers, teamed up with Parisian womenswear label Zomer for something truly special. Founded by Danial Aitouganov and stylist Imruh Asha, Zomer's DNA is rooted in a deep love for contemporary art, making photographer Dan Tobin Smith the perfect choice to capture the essence of this collaboration. Known for his strikingly symmetrical, artful photography, Tobin Smith's lens perfectly translates the creative synergy between the two brands.
Together, they reimagine Karhu's classic Mestari Kesä silhouette, blending its archival shoe with Zomer's artistic vision for a fresh take.
This campaign is all about stripping things down to the essentials -- the shoes that literally carry us. "For this collaboration, we wanted to create new shapes by using body movement, skin and the shoe," states the Karhu website. "We wanted to shape the body into something raw, fluid and precise all at once." And it really delivers.
The result is a mesmerizing mandala-like geometric pattern, created entirely through the bodies of the models, wearing nothing but the shoes. It's a celebration of trust, creativity and the shared belief that the best designs come from looking at the world from a fresh perspective.
The Mestari Kesä shoes are available for purchase on April 11 on Kahru's official website.
