The Ordinary’s New Campaign Is Putting an End To Gatekeeping
info@hypebae.com (Hypebae) Thu, 23 Jan 2025 HypebaeThe Ordinary is calling time on the industry's habit of gatekeeping skincare information once and for all. In fact, the brand is so committed to transparency that it's launched a new website, TheTruthShouldBeOrdinary.com, designed to give everyone free, direct and digestible access to white papers that the industry has kept under wraps.
The daring new platform shares scientific research that debunks age-old myths and misconceptions, from information about animal testing, sunscreen and its connection to coral reefs, parabens and more. Effectively making science free. At the same time, the brand is inviting chemists and scientists to present their research to live on the site, to build a more progressive and open dialogue about how the sector works.
"The Ordinary exists to provide truths," the brand said in a press statement, "the simple truth that single-ingredient formulations are viable by challenging the assumptions of an entire industry. The truth is that a breakthrough innovation can be accessible. The truth is that pricing should be determined by cost and as the champion of doing everything differently."
Alongside the new platform, the brand is also dropping the GF 15% Solution, a serum that includes three growth factor technologies that work to help the skin repair on its own. Growth factors are proteins and peptides that act as messengers when placed onto the dermis, allowing your body to do all of the incredible things that skincare does – like produce collagen, rebuild its barrier– on its own.
