Bottega Veneta Explores Quiet Luxury In New Film

Bottega Veneta knows that true quiet luxury isn't just a trend as its latest short film, Craft in Motion, showcases its long-held commitment to making things well.

Directed by Massimiliano Bomba, the heartfelt three minute film gives viewers an inside look into the intricate process behind creating the Italian brand's widely coveted handbags. It rhythmically shifts between shots of the atelier's grand facade, visiting statues in the Montebello courtyard, and the highly-skilled workers, showcasing their hands at work.

"Real luxury takes time" captures Bottega Veneta's ethos as the brand's signature weaving, intrecciato, is the short film's true protagonist. Sumptuous leather is transformed into expertly molded heirlooms, eschewing the notion that fashion can be fast. "I think luxury is something you feel rather than see; it is much more personal and emotive for the person wearing the clothing than for those looking at them. I want the wearer to be empowered without the clothing being loud. It is style over fashion in its timelessness," creative director Matthieu Blazy shares in an exclusive press release.
