UK footwear retailer Schuh just introduced single-shoe purchasing for disabled customers. The socially conscious footwear brand has announced an offer to customers who require only one shoe due to limb difference or disability, to buy a single shoe in-store. As part of this offer, they will also receive a 50% discount on a new pair.

"Creating an inclusive shopping experience is a key part of our business strategy. I am delighted to be able to roll out single-shoe purchases to all Schuh stores. We have been doing it via our customer experience team for some time but now, even more people will have access to the hottest brands and products through this inclusive product offering," says Chief Retail Officer, Neil Partington in a press release.

The initiative only further shows Schuh's commitment to disability equality, which is often overlooked in the fashion industry. The footwear brand's unwavering dedication strives to ensure that every customer feels represented, acknowledged and valued. Schuh's commitment to diversity and equality is evident in its past campaigns, which have featured a wide array of models. Notably, 10% of the brand's product imagery showcases models with disabilities or visible differences. Even the brand's social content has been ensured to be 100% accessible, with image descriptors and enhanced subtitles.

The offer is now available across all its stores. If you can't get access to a Schuh store near you, the brand's initiative will be available via its customer experience team.
