Instagram is making it easier to find and shop Black-owned businesses directly from the app. Now, entrepreneurs in the U.S. can add a "Black-owned" label to their business profiles.

Pages that want to publicly identify as Black-owned can simply tap the "Edit Profile" button and select "Business Diversity Info.” From there, they can toggle the app's new "Show Black-owned business label" setting. Going forward, the Shop tab on Instagram's Explore Page will highlight a selection of products from Black-owned establishments.

According to a blog post by the app, last summer through fall saw over 1.3 million Instagram posts in support of "Black-owned" or "Black-led" businesses. In addition, the number of U.S.-based business pages with "Black-owned" in their bio increased over 50 percent.
