UPDATE (MARCH 19, 2021): Last month, Madison Beer and Surf Mesa teamed up on a collaborative track dubbed "Carried Away." The song’s music video, which showcases what first love looks like during this COVID-19 era, has finally released.

Conceptualized by New York-based director by Loris Russier, the visual is inspired by the French saying, "loin des yeux, près du coeur," which translates to "far from the eyes, close to the heart" in English. Elsewhere, cinematographer Andrea Cavazzi was able to capture the joy of Beer and Mesa's young love despite being in isolation.

ORIGINAL STORY (February 12, 2021): Madison Beer has linked up with TikTok-viral musician Surf Mesa on a candy-sweet anthem titled "Carried Away." A Valentine's Day treat for music fans, the track is a nostalgic electronic ballad that captures the warm, fuzzy feeling of falling in love with someone. Surf's dreamy synths and tender beats perfectly complements Madison's emotive vocals, as she sings in the instantly memorable chorus: "I love to love, I love all the ways/ I feel so much, I get carried away/ I love to love, I just want to stay/ And get carried away, I get carried away."

In a press release, Madison elaborates on the inspiration for the new single: “When writing songs about love, I’m often drawn to the ups and downs and heartache that can result from a relationship gone bad. It was refreshing to explore the other side of love for ‘Carried Away,’ the excited nerves you get from meeting someone and falling in love for the first time. I’m so grateful to Surf who made the whole process so fun.”

"Working with Madison was a dream. I hope this song spreads love during this time when we need it more than ever,” Surf speaks of the collaboration.
