Rihanna is finally serving us with new music. After sharing a snippet of the track earlier this week, the musician has dropped "Lift Me Up," a track off the soundtrack for Marvel Studios' upcoming film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

The release marks Riri's first music release as a solo artist in six years. Written by the artist herself alongside Tems, Oscar winner Ludwig Göransson and “Black Panther” director Ryan Coogler, "Lift Me Up" is a tribute to the late actor Chadwick Boseman, who died in 2020 following a four-year battle with colon cancer.

Recorded in five countries, the track arrives after Rihanna's last album Anti which was released in 2016. The 2018 Black Panther film's soundtrack featured Kendrick Lamar, SZA, Jorja Smith and more with hits such as "All the Stars."

Tems spoke of her latest collaboration with Riri, "After speaking with Ryan and hearing his direction for the film and the song, I wanted to write something that portrays a warm embrace from all the people that I’ve lost in my life. I tried to imagine what it would feel like if I could sing to them now and express how much I miss them. Rihanna has been an inspiration to me so hearing her convey this song is a great honor."

Listen to "Lift Me Up" now via major streaming platforms. The full Black Panther: Wakanda Forever - Music From and Inspired By album will release on November 4 while the movie hits theaters on November 11.
