Taking a peek into the beauty and skincare routines of your favorite social media accounts is the easiest way to find new products to test and try. From YouTube GRWM videos to TikTok posts showing full skincare breakdowns, we love being on the oversharing side of the internet.

Yet, #BeautyTok's latest trend of sharing "unsexy products" in your routine has us questioning what makes a skincare product sexy to begin with. A quick thought would be aesthetically pleasing packaging, a buzz-worthy marketing commercial or a major celebrity backing it. Aside from the traditional ideals of "sexy" cosmetics, if a product has truly helped to transform your skin, shouldn't it automatically gain the moniker?
