So for years now we have been seeing 550HP as the benchmark for entry in the super sedan arena, the players abound from all countries the UK boasts the Jaguar XFR-S (4.4 sec. 0-60) , USA has the CTS-V (3.7 sec. 0-60), the Germans boasting the trifecta BMW M5 (3.9 sec. 0-60), Audi RS6 (3.8 sec. 0-60), and the new Papa the E63 AMG (3.4 sec. 0-60) and AMG S (3.6 sec. 0-60).  What are the subtle changes the get the Benz into supercar territory all wheel drive, AWD, 4 tires turning drive.

The Cold War's continue and the management of technology and performance continue to unravel until the end of the ICE engine where we can no longer hear the exhaust anymore. The power all starts with what Benz is known for and its the all new twin scroll turbocharged (inside of the V banks) 4.0 V8 boasting 571 hp/612 hp for the S Variant. The power available at 2500 rpm rolling to a limited top speed of 155 mph/186mph in the S Variant (You can also get to 186 in the normal AMG with the AMG Driver's Package). Want to fret on gas after buying a 600hp + car, Benz has the fuel deactivation you can work with 4 cylinders while on the highway. The big change since the 600hp has been seen before is the way the power can be delivered. The new benz AWD system is called 4matic+ what it does is allow you to make dreams come true. You can now toggle the AWD COMPLETELY OFF and go into drift mode. This now is a dual personality car and I expect to see this application in all sports cars moving forward. Power comes from the almighty AMG SPEEDSHIFT 9 SPEED that is using a wet clutch system that allows for seamless transitions.

Handling wise AMG has gone to a 4 link front axle design a sway away from the double wishbone which has been prominent in the top tear of corners in this segment. It will be interesting to see how this lightning rod handles the corners with this new technology meant to increase lateral acceleration and minimize drag. To give you a taste the cambers the things that enable you turn have a 30% better stability than the previous model which wasn't a slouch so CTS V beware. Braking comes via the standard Steel Disc Brakes but one can option the Ceramic Braking system for less dust and more stop in heavy performance conditions.

The interior much of the same and no change except for the AMG badging around the seats and interior confinements. The Benz interior still top of the charts and a step up from the plain jane's if you like some pizzaz. In all this promises to be as every company normally says after a release the best Benz ever, I guess it should because it's like "New".

Wait for full review early next year, release date of the car is March of 2017.
