The Comfortable Lambo: AUDI R8 V10 PLUS

Yes VW owns both Audi and Lambo they share a lot of the same bits but the Huracan has a little more of the exotic appeal. If you're looking to save a couple and need a good daily driver your car has arrived. The lines a familiar mark since Audi entered into the supercar territory the old one had two engines a V8 and V10 naturally aspirated, for now, the R8 is only available in the V10 and V10 plus model. Exclusivity aside we aspect to maybe see the 4.0 liter turbo that is a  known commodity in the RS7 and S8 Plus as an option and maybe the highest option when it is released.

The Huracan from Lambo was recently vehicle to take over the Gallardo spot who had the great V10 engine but didn't actually have the real life speed to compete with it's competitors, imagine an Audi RS5 or Cadillac CTS-V blowing the doors off of a Gallardo in a 1/4 mile race. The V8 R8 was kinda in the same spot as the Gallardo so with the merger of VW and Lambo there began the sharing of technologies and the best of both worlds to create two monsters built of nearly the same platform. The variances very small, very very small except that the R8 happens to be a little bit larger in the cabin and tuned for more (back to the title) DAILY DRIVING (it's heavier).

Let's get into your options a V10 ($152K) and a V10 Plus ($185K)

So from a car that use to turn out a 1/4 mile in 123.8 mph to a 130.5 mph time I can tell you forget about the marriage statistics this one works and thank you to VW. The car is a rocket the outside in certain colors is very futuristic but maybe a bit boxy compared to the sleek rounded corners of the old R8. To move car beyond the earth's stratosphere the 7 Speed dual clutch is incorporated, this allows for quicker upshift and downshifts, Audi has done a great job because formula 1 doesn't feel too far away. To have a car that makes good noises through the corners and speak of corners the lateral g 1.01 makes this a two trick pony. I don't think a lot of us understand these numbers from the R8, a Lamborghini Veyron does the quarter mile in 10.4 seconds this car does it in 10.6. Qualms if we had to have any only the euro spec R8 will have magnetic ride control....WHY....Mistakes are made I assume there is some patent clause with Cadillac because it doesn't make sense. On top of the Magna coming here we have car enthusiasts dream electronic steering, you kept the engine NA should have left the hydraulic but hey things change we have to get used to it. Either way, the car is not going to beat a 911 turbo s, or the Huracan what it will do is feel more exotic than 911 but easier to reach the limits in comfort than the Huracan. Judging by it's track times it will be in the top 10 for production cars no matter where you go.

The interior is very Audi like so it continues on the tradition in leading the industry with high-end materials and placement of components so that ergonomics will be great despite what you think of the exterior. Audi has the elegant  understated but you know I'm here type of look, think more spiderman vs batman. Price points start in the mid 100's and how does it play to the competitors if you are talking 1/4 mile and under more power equals less problems in this case.  The trio who are all underneath VW's umbrella Huracan, 911 Turbo S, and this concoction all have different plays I would say the R8 V10 Plus is middle of the pack under VW. It's not as exotic as the Huracan and not as easy to live with as the 911 Turbo but a bit different we have an all out war on our hands. No I didn't forget about the Mclaren 570S  which I think comes second to the Huracan but will have a real tough time competing with VW money for updates and changes to their vehicles. The NSX is out there for the green hippies, and it appears to be a track mons forget the ER I expected it to wipe the floor with everyone but good bow in from Honda. I am still an ICE guy so noises do matter, let's look at how they stack.
