Now you see me Now you Don't: PDLC SMART GLASS

So technology is starting to get to the point where the Jetson's and Star Trek are looking behind. This new world is created technologies that are unfathomable. Lot's of older folks think we're getting dumber, when in actuality we could be much smarter using time to create things were automated/robotic labor could do some of the work we thought to be daunting. So with that intro let's look at one of those weird technology that could pay great dividends in many aspects of our lives from Fashion to the Military, the technology is called Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal (PDLC).

It's creation is from frontal-polymerization-induced phase separation (FPIPS), what happens in this process is rapid conversion, high temperature, and large thermal properties make an alteration to a characteristic's state. Essentially to create this state a fabrication process is infused into liquid crystals that create layers of thermal reaction and separations to create the PDLC. In an English man's word's Smart Glass intended purpose is to control the amount of light, and heat, passing through a material which allows for a switch of the material from transparent to completely opaque. The key to this is "messing with the properties of light".

So look at this short video's of the capabilities of this smart technology

What does the technology do, if anyone remembers the X-Men there were shapeshifters
  • We are big into homes, and just imagine switching the lighting the color of your home and taking down your blinds permanently
  • Transportation could change forever your windows wouldn't need tint
  • Military just imagine the changes to the Aerospace, Ground, and Human Wearables to make yourself invisible with the switch of a button

This is exciting technology slated to make significant waves and changes in the way we see glass and it's uses, this is also available in a film to change the glass you currently have into something special. Stay tuned for more to come.
