BENZ GLC43 AMG: Mommy your driving fast

When I was a young child growing up there weren’t many options for parents to look cool while driving. My mom stuck me with the coolest vehicle that I could think of that time the beloved Volvo 240. This car was a magnet, a magnet to flies and any jokster in middle school. Times have sinced change you now have options beyond the Volvo but including the Volvo to blow your blind. The CUV has taken the world by storm and Mercedes has just released a four door that not only looks better than some of it’s sedan counterparts but also may be faster. I introduce you to the Benz GLC, this is not the coupe which also a stud in its on right but the 4 door monster that will take care of both your grocery and street pavement in one errand trip.

Mercedes always took care of its big guys G63, ML63, GLK63, all packing some form of the all powerful and mighty 6.2 twin turbo v8. The times have changed EPA restrictions are forcing auto manufacturers to rethink the displacement in the form of smaller engines with twin turbo 6 cylinders that actually may meet or exceed performance numbers while saving you at the pump. The GLC 43AMG is packing the following which will make this a straight line menace:

Mated to this perfect match of power and low weight is the 9G transmission. I very soon worry about the use of DCT’s the 2017 Zl1 Camaro 10 speed sounded like a DCT I can only imagine what damage this will do to the high torque GLC. So getting power to the ground efficiently is great but will it stay there. In addition to the updated transmission you now have the AWD system. Don’t fray carr enthusiasts the fun isn’t lost. Ask me why?The AWD is distributed with a 31 front wheel / 69 ear wheel bias. So this car will feel like the tail will step out and that’s all I wanted from a CUV the point is the fun should be there.

So its not all about the performance AMG has added it’s dual personality mood for these model through the AMG DYNAMIC SELECT transmission modes Eco, Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual for your preferred setting. A cool feature while you’re in ECO mode include stop/start as well as a sailing function what this does when the drive releases accelerator in a speed range of 37-99 mph the clutch is disengaged which means low idle driving which lowers the force of moving parts thus reducing your fuel consumption. The first GLC to hit showroom floors by the end of the year 2016 at a pre-k near you.
