If you watched or played any of the go fast car video games from the late 90's or early 2000's one car that always accessible through the garage is the Nissan GTR. If your not a car enthusiasts your are probably trying to figure out why? It’s a Nissan. With that first statement I really do think Nissan should move the GTR to it’s own brand or relabel it an Infinite but let’s not digress and talk about what the GTR could be but what can this animal do with minimal modifications.

Super car street racers from around the world know of these Japanese cars as the most affordable and tunable rear or AWD super car beating vehicles on the market, to mention a few Nissan GTR, Toyota Supra, Nissan 240, Mistu Evo, Nissan 300ZX,Subi WRX, and Mistu 3000GT. With that being said a plethora of options the GTR has remained king of the tune and as evidence by some of the youtube videos, the Alpha tuned vehicles can beat your latest + million purchase (Bugatti’s and P1’s) Car companies with budget conscience in mind have alot to worry about from 100K vehicle. So upon it’s first release in 2009 tuner fans have praised the updated revised GTR but its been around for nearly 7 years now so the question whats up next, especially with the competitors upping there game and losing there price ex: Z06 Corvette

First look at the specs of the original GTR:

So let’s be honest most cars are just reaching this level of performance today and some of these still cannot beat the mighty GTR. So the GTR was a big vehicle but still not a GT it didn’t exhibit the creature comforts found in let’s say a Porshe 911 of course it killed the competition in every regard but every day drivability, and luxury from the comments I have seen. So Nissan has something to focus on other than the exterior which is what it is, or the chassis and engine. This allowed for a heavier focus on the creature comforts to make this an all around vehicle. Tuner cars around the world really don’t care but Nissan’s bottom line depends on sales to make cars like these for us 1%.

So fans long awaited a more super look a more luxurious interior so that the GTR could step up into the next stratosphere, but hold on isn’t already there? For all the ugly chants I hear I still see a premium look to the vehicle when in person. When fully equipped or wrapped as they say I could park it next to Ferrari and not be ashamed. So give me the why Nissan shouldn’t go to up scale maybe because that loses the purpose of the GTR. This is not meant to be a million dollar sports car but 80-120k Supercar that the average man can buy. So for the updates they made changes to the interior, the creature comforts but the design remains relatively unchanged As for the exterior see below:

Changes:
  • Revised front grille
  • Revised side sills
  • Higher betline for the body kit
  • Revised back end
  • Revised interior
  • Paddle shifters change
  • 8 in touch panel screen
  • Demand control knob
  • Paddle shifters moved
