Cadillac CT5: The Sedans are still alive

The talk of the demise for the baddest or some may say the only luxury sports sedan made in America the CTS V was a pain to the heart of many enthusiasts such as myself, to make issues even worst there were additional plans to remove the V models and Sedans as a whole from the Cadillac line up, if there was a dagger to the heart that line would do it. From the brand that brought us nameplates such as Eldorado, Deville, Seville, and ATS/CTS there was always an alternative stateside that would at least give you an option away from staples such as BMW, Benz, and Audi. The strongest attempt at dethroning the Germans was the latest and perhaps the best version of the sedan the outgoing CTS. This car finally had the looks, and the interior that could play ball but to some, there was always something missing that kept it from going to the top, this time around was the interior finish and transmission offerings.

Enter in above a pleasant surprise, we cannot see all of the vehicle in the Flesh till about 3 days from now but the CT5 is born and Cadillac has not yet given up on the Sedan. The profile is reminiscent of a Cadillac with a few changes for modernization including the signature Cadillac headlights. The lines are ok for now, but there is a little bit of Altima in the side profile or should I say Genesis G80. We have to be cognizant of Cadillacs current financial struggles and that this may be the final hoorah!! The knock out would've come if they would bring there Escala concept to reality but that is difficult to do when you're earning pennies on the dollar.

So here is the latest release from Caddy, expectations are to have an improvement on the interior, the driving dynamics are already there so now its more of the finishing touch check out the spec's below than wait for the full reveal:

5 Things to think about:
  • More wheelbase (116-inch) = More space improvement of 3 inches vs CTS
  • Fastback design with LED exterior lighting
  • Super Cruise - Self Driving
  • Top Engine 3.0 TT V6 - 335 HP and 400 LB TQ mated to 10 Speed transmission
  • Improved on an already top of market suspension, Double Pivot Macpherson type front, 5 link rear independent suspension.
